RockUs are particularly well-known for singing classics from the world of pop across the ages, from Abba to Adele, from Queen to James Bay, from Elvis to Justin Timberlake, and has went from strength to strength since it was formed in 2011 with only four members, with the aim of creating a community singing group where people could join together with a variety of social backgrounds and capabilities.

RockUs first performance was on Armed Forces Day, in 2012, and since then we’ve sung at Edinburgh’s Usher Hall with performers like Kerry Ellis and Jai McDowall, on STV Glasgow as part of the ‘Live Appeal’, with E17 at the Glasgow Summer Bash, and at many community events around Renfrewshire including the Spree Festival. We’ve even had three of our very own shows in Paisley in 2015 and 2016, and September of 2017.
The performances and great sound of RockUs are in great part due to the efforts of the Choir Director. After being founded and developed by the gifted Charlene Gordon, RockUs are under the direction of the talented musician and composer Gregg Muir. Born in Paisley and raised in Bishopton, Gregg’s interest in music began at age 6 in the Bishopton Boys and Girls Brigade marching band playing trumpet. Once at high school, he was identified as having real potential, and, under the guidance of the head of music at Park Mains High School, Keith Hamilton, he excelled. Teachers Linda Gibson and Christine Badger helped Gregg’s development in piano and voice, and served as a great inspiration.
After graduating from Strathclyde University with specialties in composition and community music, Gregg began a career in community music and has worked with a variety of organisations, including as music development Officer for North Lanarkshire Council, as music director for Theatre Nemo, a mental health arts organisation. He is currently working with the Village Storytelling Centre in Leverndale hospital, and some recent work includes being the musical director for a show with Toonspeak called 'Your Sound', with Impact Arts working on a community festival in Erskine, and IndepenDance playing live music for dance workshops. Gregg plays the piano and trumpet, and has sung backing vocals for Lou Hickey and the Lovebites, along with session work for bands such as, The Imagineers, Codeine Velvet Club, Alun Woodward of the Delgados.
Gregg founded Achoired Taste in Glasgow in 2008 and In Full Voice in 2013, before coming in as Director of RockUs choir in October 2016. Almost all choir performances have been to support charities including, Theatre Nemo, CHAS, Accord, Marie Curie, Alzheimers Scotland, Race For Life, to name but a few.
RockUs continue to promote singing for all and encourages all ages and capabilities. The opportunities that present themselves have been greatly appreciated and quite unexpected.
